John has worked in the financial services sector for over 30 years, initially in general banking before specialising in operations management and re-engineering, lending and risk management. John has achieved the qualifications of Chartered Banker and also Professional Mortgage Adviser.

Having worked throughout Scotland, John moved to look after sales and service of lending products for a major banking group in the offshore jurisdiction of Isle of Man. John returned to Scotland, and after running a hotel for a couple of years, was approached to join one of the fast expanding Alternative Finance/Peer 2 Peer Lenders, initially as a Relationship Director before being appointed the Regional Director for the North of the UK. During this time he also continued to act as a consultant to a small number of existing clients of his consultancy practice. As 2020 came to an end, and against the background of the many impacts Covid was having on businesses who needed access to lending facilities to allow their business to survive, and then thrive, John decided it was time to return to offering consultancy services full time, and enable more clients access to the wide selection of traditional, and specialist, lenders John had forged links with.
